How our affiliation with, and proximity to,
Swedish Medical Center and
Colorado Neurological Institute (CNI) benefits you
The location of Dr. Arenson’s
office on the campus of both Swedish Medical Center and the Colorado
Neurological Institute allows patients to receive virtually
all the treatment and expertise they need in one place.
Swedish
Medical Center-HealthONE,
a Level I Trauma Center, serves as the region’s referral center
for neurotrauma and is a recognized leader in the treatment of stroke.
Swedish Centers of Excellence include: adult and pediatric trauma
services, neurosciences, advanced radiology capabilities, cancer
treatment services, cardiology services, and women’s and children’s
services.
Swedish is accredited by JCAHO, with a score of 95 (2002). It is
the first, and only, Comprehensive Stroke Center in Colorado. An
acute care hospital with 368 licensed beds, Swedish is located in
the south Denver metro area in Englewood, Colorado, where it has
been a proud member of the community for nearly 100 years, Swedish
was named one of the “100 Top Hospitals” in the nation
by Solucient in 2003, as well as winning the “Consumer Choice”
award for the fifth time in 2002 and also being named a “Facility
of Choice.” It was rated by “U.S. News & World Report”
as one of the Top 50 Hospitals for Respiratory Care.
The Colorado Neurological Institute (CNI)
is a nonprofit corporation formed through a close association with
Swedish Medical Center to develop multidisciplinary comprehensive
programs for all neurological diseases. To this end, the Colorado
Neurological Institute now consists of a critical mass of physicians
and neuroscientists who provide programs for epilepsy, movement
disorders, neurobehavioral trauma, neuromuscular diseases, sleep
disorders and central nervous system tumors (neuro-oncology).
Dr. Arenson is Director
of Neuro-oncology and Medical
Director of CNI’s
Center for Brain & Spinal Tumors and which offers an
aggressive, multi-disciplinary and integrated team approach to the
treatment of brain and CNS tumors.
As a result of its relationship with the Colorado Neurological
Institute, Swedish Medical Center has developed technology and expertise
necessary to support these programs. Important examples are neuroimaging,
which provides such unique capabilities as MRI spectroscopy, functional
MRI analysis and world-renowned interventional neuroradiology.
Swedish
Hospital also provides its neurosurgeons with the most modern equipment
to assist them in achieving the highest degree of resection (removal)
of central nervous system tumors, based on the fact that patients
who achieve complete or near-complete removal of their tumors have
the greatest chance for survival.
Since Dr. Arenson’s office is located on the campus
of both Swedish Medical Center and the Colorado Neurological Institute,
his patients have immediate access to everything these two entities
provide.
